Saint Laurent fall 2013 rtw details
Woah hey tumblr!!!
So I’m just gonna take the time to rant about some of the movies/books I’ve seen lately on here because I’m taking a break from twitter and this isn’t important enough to go on my real blog! Anyways if ya wanna follow me idk anyone it’s peskypescado.blogspot.com I think lol!
So I’ve watched two movies over the past two days and finished a book I’ve been reading. Yay!
Starting with the movies. The Grand Budapest Hotel and Enemy. Both were soooo good. GB was such a great movie and had such a great style to it. The story within a story and narrative style was really interesting to keep up with. Plus Gustave was such a good round character because of his ability to be who he was (sensitive, caring) but to understand the roles he had to take on. Ah lastly the ending and explanation of everyone involved in the tale was such a strange twist to the overall go lucky vibe.
I just watched Enemy like an hour ago and I’ve been trying to seriously figure it out. It was one of the hardest movies I’ve ever had to follow and I watched a 20 minute review of it already lol! The conclusions that have been made is that it’s some weird mix of a allegory to totalitarianism and the subconscious of an unfaithful man. Plus the giant spiders everywhere were insanely creepy. Honestly I’m gonna try to watch it again and see if I can piece it together myself because I’m still pretty lost.
And lastly: I finished the masterpiece of the Kite Runner!!!! This book was so incredible and uplifting. It constantly shifted and kept me on the balls of my feet plus I cried my eyes out three times too. I really really loved it but by the end of it I felt like it got a little bit predictable but never the less was a solid book. It reminded me of Brideshead Revisited with the new found religious aspects and the moving of the story. The true reason I loved this book so much because it was a huge reality check and it kept my own emotions and problems in check. What’s a few arguments to Hassan and Sohrab being sexual abused??? Nothing. I cried so hard over every little aspect because I know it was fiction but things like what happened in that book happen all over the world still I mean look at those girls who were kidnapped and sold in Nigeria?? Anyways a great read 12/10 would definitely recommend it!
